ToT: Dear Mr. Quagliaroli-A Letter From Your Mrs.

This week on ToT: Write a letter to your husband/significant other. It doesn’t have to be a love letter. It can just be about your day or something. Tell him thank you. Tell him he’s a moron. You know, tell him exactly just what you want to say. J

Dear Mr. Q.,

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I never thought I would have a last name that starts with a Q.,
But I'm sure glad I do,
Because I love being married to you!

On the Ponte Vecchio in Florence
Okay, enough poetry.  It's not my forte and now you see why.  This letter is going to be short and sweet because we are getting ready to go on a trip of a life time, and I need to start planning and packing.  Also-we talk about our feelings and relationship all of the time, and I think you know how special you are to me.

On the Street Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes
I'm really looking forward to this trip together.  It's been a long time since we were able to really get away, and do something that we both enjoy-explore new places and cultures. I've never been to Italy, France, or Spain.  I can't wait to discover this part of the world with you.  I wonder what our favorite places will be, and if we will want to visit any of them again.  After our honeymoon, we knew right away that we would have to go back to Hawaii because it was such a special place for us, and I hope we find that in one of the places we are going to visit. Maybe we can go back with the kids some day...maybe not :).

In front of the rotunde fountain in Aix en Provence
What are you looking forward to the most? I could try to guess, but honestly I'm not sure.  In our last couple of weeks before this trip we have both been preoccupied with running errands to prepare for the trip, and you have been on the road working.  Since we haven't really discussed it, I guess I will use this letter to fill you in on what I'm looking forward to the most.  It will be fun to see if what I'm anticipating to be the best parts of the trip live up to their expectations, or if I'm sweetly surprised by a different destination or experience.

Pompeii
I'm really looking forward to the places we will visit in Italy.  When I was in 4th grade, we had a history unit on archaeology, and the ruins in Pompeii.  I was so obsessed with the story and history of Pompeii.  I read all I could about it, and thought I was going to be an archaeologist when I grew up.  It's one of the things that sparked my love of history.  When I found out this cruise had a shore excursion that visited Pompeii, I shed a tear.  Literally.  I'm so excited to see the ruins.

St. Peter's Basilica
Rome is also on the top of my list.  There is so much history in Rome.  I hope we see some of the places that were discussed in "Angels and Demons."  I think that might be neat for both of us because we have both read that book.  I hope I can remember some of those sights.  Maybe I should write them down because right now I have so much information from travel books floating around in my head, there is hardly room for anything else.  I think it's going to be hard to pack so much into one single day while we are in these cities.  I know you did say you want to see the Colosseum, but what I'm really interested in is the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel.  I was so disappointed when I found out the Pope hosts an audience there every Wednesday at 10:30 am, and you can get tickets, but you have to buy them 10 days in advance (Boo!), and I just found out about it today. Not enough time.  Oh well. Then, there is Florence.  I am curious about what it has to offer because I know a lot of people that spent a semester abroad there.  I don't really have many expectations though.

As for France and Spain-well, I'm excited to go-who wouldn't be? I just don't really know much about the areas we will be visiting.  I think that could be really fun, too.  I also think it will be nice to have a couple of days to wander around and relax with out being on a strict tour schedule.  I least I hope it will be nice.

Well, Dear Husband, it's time to get some shut eye.  I hope you enjoyed this letter.  I love you, and good night.
Love,
Mrs. Q.
I'm always in First Class whenever I'm with you.
