Together on Tuesdays: Celebrity Interview

I have to admit that I am a procrastinator, and usually wait until the last minute to write my posts. I decided to try to break out of that habit this week, and write one ahead of time.  Danielle at "My Peaches and Cream" and I are going to be writing about a celebrity that we would like to interview and what sort of questions we would ask them.  At first, this seemed like a great topic, but as I sit here to write this, I have about a thousand different faces and names floating through my head.  I could see this becoming a topic that we write about again, because it's just too hard to pick one person-at least it is for me. Also, we didn't give each other any restraints on what kind of celebrity we could interview (actor, director, author, news anchor, painter, musician, athlete, living, deceased, etc.).   Hmmm-I may have to sleep on this, and narrow down my list.   The first person that actually popped into my head was Suzanne Collins, author of "The Hunger Games" followed by Anne Rice and Stephanie Meyer. Funny how it was authors instead of actors or singers that came to mind first. Maybe it's because we hear a lot from musicians and actors, but not a lot from writers. Now, I'm just rambling. So let's get on with the interview.

Celebrity Guest: Walt Disney

Seriously-I know-right? Walt is the perfect person for me to interview at the moment since I am obsessed with all things Disney.  After our trip to Disney, I started day dreaming about working at the park, then working as an imagineer, or an artist.  Then, I started thinking back to when my interest or love for Disney started, and I think I have it pin pointed to about third grade.  Of course I saw Disney cartoons and movies before then, but I did a report on Walt Disney and Mickey mouse when I was in third or fourth grade.  It was my first "real" report.  I researched my topic, brought in books to share with the class, and even drew a few pictures.  I can barely remember it-but I know that I talked about the first cartoon with Mickey Mouse, how his name was first Mortimer instead of Mickey, and I can remember watching that cartoon for the first time.  It was so special. When we were at Disney World I thought to myself, "I wonder what would Walt Disney think about his "empire" if he saw it today?"  Below are some of the questions that came to mind.
  • What do you think of the theme parks today? Are they what you had envisioned? If not, what would you change? What would you keep?
  • Who is your favorite Disney character and why?
  • Are you satisfied with the image the Disney franchise portrays?
  • What do you think of the fact that there are no moms in most of the princess movies? Why is that exactly? In a lot of the movies the moms are not present or they are an "evil" stepmother type character.
  • I know that most people say Goofy is a dog and Pete is a cat, can you verify this?
  • What do yo think of this whole Pixar deal? Do you enjoy the Disney/Pixar movies? Which Toy Story is your favorite?
  • Are there any characters or ideas from Disney's past that you would like to see revisited?
  • What would you like to see happen in the future for Disney regarding the theme parks, movies, television shows? Are there any animation ideas that were never developed that you would like to see come to fruition?
  • What do you think of the possibility of making a theme park pass that would allow you to visit both the Orlando, FL location and the California park with in the same year for a discounted price?  Or how about making a "Cars Land" in FL as well as CA?
I think by the time my interview with Walt came to a conclusion we would have established a special connection, and I would be able to ask him two final questions.  The first would be, can you get me a job as a cast member at Disney? Preferably as a princess character? Second, how about lifetime passes to the Disney parks for myself and my family with accommodations at a Disney resort of our choice? I will spring for the meals. Since this is my dream interview I would have to say that his answer would be yes to both of these questions, after all, "A Dream is Wish Your Heart Makes" right?
