Poncho and Jeggings-who is this girl?

I recently went shopping at Kohl's (one of my favorite spots) and bought a cream colored crochet poncho and jeggings. Now, any of my wonderful friends would tell you that I'm not a poncho or jeggings type of girl.  I'm more of a boot cut jeans and t-shirt type of person.  I have been working on trying to be a bit more stylish, and push my fashion envelope a little bit more (so to speak).  I then came home and experienced all sorts of buyers remorse over both items.  See, I love to shop, but I hate HATE spending money.  Did I put enough emphasis on the word hate? I don't know why, it's how I was raised.  I really hate spending money on myself when I feel that I should be spending it on my kids or other people that need something more than me.
Anyways, after making my purchase, I then texted two of my most fashion conscious friends to ask their advice on how to wear said items of clothing...and to see if these items were still in style.  I can't believe that I jumped on the jegging band wagon because I made so much fun of the leggings and jeggings when they first came back into style.  I was having bad memories of a childhood when stretch pants and stirrup pants were all the rage, and I was made fun of for having thick pantie lines and a big booty.  Anyhow-as the years have gone by, I've gained a little more self confidence, and quite honestly want to show off some of my cute boots that I have instead of hiding under my jeans all of the time. So call me a hypocrite, but I feel great in those jeggings, and I've already worn them out, so there is no turning back.

Now, about the poncho...let's see. It's still hanging in my closet.  I haven't worn it yet, and I'm still not 100% convinced that I'm going to keep it.  I think it would be a great little item to have for my upcoming trip to San Francisco, but then what? Would it just hang in my closet collecting dust? It does fit nicely, but it is also cream.  Cream and white are two colors that I really try hard to avoid for two reasons.  One because I think they wash me out, and I look like a walking zombie, and two, because I have two small kids, and I just know I'm going to get a huge stain of something on it. So, the decision to keep the poncho is up in the air.

Okay, so you are probably wondering why devote an entire post to this stupid shopping trip, over two small pieces of clothing that add up to about $50?  This is the way my brain functions people.  I obsess over something until it drives me batty.  I can't help it, but I feel that maybe if I write about it, I can start to get over it...that, and if my friends read this post, they will send me reassurances that will make me feel better and have a little less remorse.  Besides, there are a ton of new Columbus Day sales that I could really work myself up over....
