More like, some weekends

So, I've been a little behind on the posts lately.  Sorry folks.  This week was a tough week for me. My husband was out of town Monday through Thursday.  Our anniversary (8 years!) was on Tuesday. While I'm no stranger to him being gone on special occasions such as anniversaries or birthdays, I took his absence very hard this year.  Maybe it was because last year on our anniversary, I was able to come with him on his conference and have a nice get away trip to California.  He was there again this year, minus the Mrs.  Anyhoo, I have decided enough with the boohooing on that already.  I read a weekly column written by a mother in our local paper about the trials and tribulations of being a mom.  This last week's subject was about all of the self pity she has had lately, and the wake up call she received at a family reunion.  A few of her family members were facing some serious life changing issues, and she was complaining and feeling sorry for her self over some very small issues.  I also tend to get bogged down in my everyday grievances, and sometimes need to look at the bigger picture.  On that note-here is my weekly gratitude entry (I use the term "weekly" very loosely).

  • This week, I'm thankful for 8 wonderful years of marriage.  Marriage hasn't always been easy, but the things in life that seem to matter the most rarely are easy.  I'm so thankful to have found my life partner at such an early age in life.
  • I'm so thankful that my mom had a great experience on her work trip to Orlando, FL. She gets very nervous when she flies, and they had some weather delays and flight cancellations on their return trip.  I'm glad she made it home safely.
  • I'm thankful for being able to see my friends at a nice little relaxing get together at my friend Danielle's house.  I saw a few people I knew in high school.  Instead of being awkward, it was actually quite nice and enjoyable.  Plus-my kids had a blast playing with their kids.  Happiness all around.

  • Finally, I'm thankful that I was able to get some much needed alone time this weekend.  My wonderful husband let me have a few hours to get out of the house, and just be on my own for a bit.  I need that every now and again.

Also thankful that I finished this project in time. It's my grandmother's birthday present. A Colt's themed ruffle scarf.
