ToT: Bucket List

The topic for this week is "Bucket List." Bucket List-what are the top 10 (or 20 or 30, etc..) things you want to do/accomplish before you, well, kick the bucket? Have you already accomplished some things from your bucket list? What are they?

I have to admit, I don't have a list written out or stamped in my mind, but I do have some things that I've started saying I can check off of my bucket list.  It's kind of strange to check something off before it was officially on the list, but that's just how I roll-I guess.  The one big thing I'm referring to is the marathon that I ran last October.  I didn't realize it was something that I wanted to do, but now that I've done it-it's definitely going on the list, and getting a huge check mark next to it. Some other items that I'm fortunate enough to check off at this point in my life are the wonderful places that I've been able to visit.

Here it is (in no particular order of importance):
  1. Run a marathon (26.2 miles)
  2. Visit Paris France
    1. See the Eiffel Tower
    2. Visit the Louver
  3. Take my kids on a tour of Europe and show them all of the places their Dad and I love.
  4. Visit Ireland
  5. Visit Scotland
  6. Visit England
  7. I would like to see the cure for all cancers during my lifetime.
  8. See the Grand Canyon. (well, more than see it-I've flown over it a bunch, but I want to actually be able to look at it from the ground).
  9. Learn how to play the piano. (We have one just sitting around collecting dust in our house, and I think it would be cool to use it.)
  10. Take a drawing class.
  11. Learn how to use my sewing machine to make gifts and home decor items for myself, friends, and family that look well made.
  12. Watch my children grow into happy, successful (at whatever they hope to accomplish), healthy adults.
  13. Celebrate my 10th anniversary with my husband in Hawaii (and my 20, 30, so on an so forth).
  14. Continue the tradition of visiting the coast of MI with my family so that my children can create wonderful family vacation memories similar to mine.
  15. Italy-see it, enjoy it, experience it, all over, again and again.
  16. Introduce my children to my friend and former foreign exchange student, Miriam. She lives in Germany, and is expecting her first child. It would be so cool for our kids to be able to meet each other.
  17. Participate in a relay marathon. I just think that would be a fun thing to do with some running buddies-especially since I do all of my running mostly solo.
  18. Visit Vatican City again-and this time actually get to see the Sistine Chapel.  Perhaps get to just sit down and take it in for a minute, instead of getting a total of 15 minutes to stand in line AND visit St. Peter's Cathedral. I know, I know, at least I was there, and that was amazing. Just saying-it's my bucket list, and I can put whatever I want on it.
  19. See my kids hug a koala and feed a kanga or wallaby. There is nothing like it.
  20. Find a job/career that is meaningful and fills me with purpose.
So, that's the list for now. I'm sure there will be some editing and additions in the future. What's your bucket list? If you are looking for inspiration, check out what the other ToT ladies are saying this week by clicking on one of the links to the right.

Sarah Clark and I, along with our husbands, did a relay marathon. It was fun! You should do it sometime. AND I'm a bit jealous about your koala holding :)
