Where have I been?

I'm baaaack.  I think I might be a once a month blogger.  Seriously. So, where have I been you wonder? Well, I've been busy having a birthday (yay me), trick or treating with my two kids, celebrating my daughter's 2nd birthday, and getting ready for Thanksgiving.  An impromptu Thanksgiving at my house.  (I know your are jealous).  I have also been working on a few crafty projects.  See below:

This is a scarf I made for my grandma's birthday. It's made from Lion Brand Yarn. The yarn is Home Town USA in Charlotte Blue. I used pattern #L0435C Crochet Lacy Scarf.

I did modify the pattern. I used a size L hook, and I cut the width down to half the size the pattern called for as I didn't want it as thick.

This is a baby blanket I made for my expecting best friend.  When I started the blanket, I didn't know the gender of the baby.  Her husband is a high school cross country and track coach, so I decided to use the team's colors.

The hole in the middle of the blanket is for the carseat or stroller buckle.  I used a pattern from "Stitch n' Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker" by Debbie Stoller.

So, those are a couple of the projects I have been working on.  I also made another ruffle scarf for my friend Jenny's birthday.  I am currently working on changing my daughter's room decor.  It was a neutral twinkle twinkle theme that we used for my son.  I'm trying to "girl" it up a bit.  I'm going with a bird and owl theme.  Some of you may have seen some of the cute decor that Pottery Barn and Target have out right now.  I did buy a bedding set from Target, but for the most part, I've been trying to search out unique things, too.  I made some of my own homemade art from fabric pieces that I shaped like owls and sewed together.  I'll post those pics soon.  I'm fairly happy with the outcome. Although I may go back and change a couple of things after the holidays.  I hope all of you have a great holiday season.  Time to get started on some homemade Christmas gifts.
