Pinkalicious

We went to a Pinkalicious themed party for a 5 year old little girl this past week.  It was a great party, and I just had to share pictures of the favors from the party.   The mom is one of my really good friends, and she wanted to provide a grab bag gift that was something functional and fun.  Check out these cute little "towel" cupcakes:

I love the little Pinkalicious type wand.

Sam had a "chocolate" cupcake

I am going to have to come up with something creative like this to give away at Sam's next birthday party.  If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

The other side of this story has to do with the gift we ended up giving Katie.  I found this great yarn called Serenity Chunky Sprinkles Yarn.  The name of the color is playdate.  How cute is that? I knew I really wanted to make something for Katie out of this yarn, but I wasn't sure if I could pull off making a hat.  I have never attempted a hat, my time was limited, and I could not find a pattern I liked for a child's hat.  So, of course, I went ahead and decided to make one-with a back up or additional gift of course.  I had to re-work the hat 4 times.  Sam was so patient as I made him model the hat for me time and time again.  It turned out alright, but still not what I was going for.  The most important thing is that Katie likes it, and calls it her "Strawberry Shortcake" hat.
