I'm a young mother of two that is short on time. I don't get to blog until after the kiddos go to bed, and when I can steal a lucky moment alone on the weekends.

Project Starter
Okay, so I have an issue...I'm a habitual project starter...but not a project finisher. I get a great idea, and I plan it all out in my head. Then, I do research on supplies and materials. I gather up all of my coupons, and plan a trip to purchase said supplies and materials. I buy the items, and then, they either sit around my house in the bags, or I actually start the project only to find it unfinished laying in the bottom of a drawer somewhere about a year later. So, for a New Year's resolution, I am going to finish all of my unfinished projects...or at least the ones worth finishing. If I start a new project, it must be finished before I can begin something else. Now, that being said, it's been my resolution for about the last 10 years. Let's see if I can keep it this year. I've been doing well so far. Here are some examples...
The Christmas Apron: I wanted to learn how to use my sewing machine. I signed up for a class on how to make an apron. They canceled the class twice, but I finally prevailed, and took the class. After four hours (the class went an hour over the allotted time) I still had an unfinished apron. I only let a week go by though before finishing the project.
Mia's Baby Blanket: I started this blanket about two months before Mia was born. I took a crochet class and got the blanket started at that time. After several classes, the blanket is nearly finished. I just have to put a decorative border around the outside...which entails going to another class.
Mia's Baby Books: I vowed to have these done by her birthday at the beginning of November...then by Christmas. I'm almost finished with one of them. I'm on month 10. The other one is a work in progress as it goes through year five. Oy!
Scarf for my Aunt's Birthday: My aunt had a birthday in December. I decided it would be great to make her a scarf. I bought the yarn and the hook. I found the pattern that I can do. I am still working on it. My goal is to have it finished by this weekend to give to her at my son's birthday party.
You get the point. So another fabulous idea I had was to make a treat for my son to take to school with him for his birthday. The teacher said they prefer no cupcakes or cake because it is messy. My son is in love with Toy Story at the moment so I thought I could make some kind of Toy Story themed cookies. I was trying to be so creative. I thought, yellow icing with red checks for Woody, white icing with green and purple circles for Buzz. It's all coming together. Then, BAM! Snow storm. I had to play the waiting game to see if school was going to be canceled or not. Instead of being able to bake the cookies one night, and decorate them the next, I ended up having to do the whole thing this morning before taking Sam to school. Thank goodness Grandma came over to visit and entertain the kiddos. Here are the cookies-they didn't turn out as great as I hoped, but not too bad.
