No Excuses

My lovely husband put together a new treadmill last night. He got it for me (well, it's for both of us but he hates using treadmills) because I have (had) a gym membership that I never used. I am training for the mini marathon, and need to get serious about my training. That's hard to do when I stay at home, and don't like taking my kids to the gym childcare. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the childcare, and the people there are lovely, but I have not had good experiences with my children in the gym childcare. Well, I should say child. I think I attempted to work out three times while putting Sam in the gym childcare facility at my old gym. Each time, I was about five minutes into my run (just enough time to get sweaty) when they would come up from the childcare room with my screaming son.

Anyhoo, I hope this treadmill deal works out. I really do. I don't really like running on treadmills as much as I enjoy running outside, but I refuse to run outside and slip and get hurt on the ice. I had a close call during the last snow storm and decided enough was enough. I'm pretty excited about it being set up in front of the TV, maybe then I won't get as bored. We shall see.
